Her parents divorced when she was four years old. She had a very unstable life while growing up, circumstances of life made her shy and often withdrawn. While in the University, her grades were so bad that out of frustration she left school one day. Driving with no destination and no direction in life she incidentally found herself in a rundown old roughed prayer house. Alone in that desolate place and desperate for survival she cried and poured out her heart to God in prayers. Predictably, the loving arms of Jesus found her and saved her soul. She found God and music also found her that same day. Today, at age 36, she is a worship leader with a gospel band called JESUS CULTURE. Her renditions “How He Loves” and “Where You Go I Go” have a combine view of over 30 million on YouTube. Her song “On My Side” reached number 1 on Billboard’s Top Christian Album Chart as at May 2017. Her name is KIM!!! Kim Walker-Smith, an American singer, songwriter, worship leader and pastor. Like Kim, Ruth in the bible had her back pressed against the walls of early widowhood, poverty and pains, her whole life was wrapped up in the ocean of impossibilities and hopelessness. Yet, Ruth kept faith in the invisible God and thus became invincible. In Ruth 1:18 we saw how steadfast Ruth was and of course, her steadfastness paid off big time. It is one thing to desire something or make a promise, it is another thing to put your foot down, give in your all and accept no option other than what you desire. Successful people do not quit midway to the destination because they know that after all the pains, glory will come and the heart of the steadfast will be filled with praise. I listened to Eric Thomas say his company made the biggest profit during the last recession in USA. This could have only taken great faith. Exercising faith is a choice. Orpah chose to focus on the obvious based on facts and figures, Ruth chose to walk by faith in God.
